Bringing this work back to the people and places that inspired it! In "Ghost Factory", live performance merges with haunting video imagery of abandoned factory buildings, evoking the humanity these spaces once held. Voices of current and former residents of Johnson City are woven into the soundtrack of the work.
The installation "Places With Hidden Stories" was created in collaboration with Binghamton University’s Environmental Studies, Cinema, and Anthropology Departments and BU’s Center for Civic Engagement. |

Behind the Scenes with Bridgman|Packer Dance:
Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer will discuss their creative process, including their concept of Video Partnering, the integration and melding of live performance and video technology on stage. They will show their development of this work with slides and video excerpts of their performances and process. Demonstrating their use of green screen technology, live video processing on stage, and multi-camera work, they will illustrate how the technology can enhance and expand their choreographic vision. They will also discuss their creation of stand-alone dance films, focusing on the use of camera angles, framing, and lighting. |

Held at Seaview Creek Farm on Seaside Road just outside of Cape Charles, this innovative experience offers a stunning Eastern Shore sunset, dazzling guests with a night that unravels in a series of site-specific, live performance events, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery with friends and family. TRUCK is designed to be performed inside a 17-foot box truck with the audience viewing from the outside. A utilitarian truck evolves into a re-imagined space through a dynamic alchemy of choreography and video. This work can be performed anywhere that a truck can be parked.

This eclectic showcase features performances by 4O choreographers and their companies over four evenings from September 3 to 6. Bridgman|Packer Dance is on Friday, September 5. A testing ground for the development of new work, the DANCENOW Joes Pub Festival centers around a unique challenge for artists: to create a clear and complete artistic statement of five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joes Pub. Each night, audiences select the work of one artist as their challenge winner to receive a weeklong creative residency at DANCENOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The top ten audience favorites, including the five challenge winners, will be featured in the Encore program on September 13. Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer are Fellows at this two week dance on camera workshop in Cape Charles, VA. They will be creating a new work, "Truck", to be performed inside a 17-foot box truck. "Truck" will premiere on Saturday, August 16 from 9:00 pm to midnight at intervals throughout the night, hosted by Experimental Film Virginia as part of the Harbor for the Arts Festival. With the audience looking into the bed of the truck, film projections and live performance alter the space into a micro-world of visions.

In conjunction with the Bridgman|Packer Dance performance of Voyeur, which takes the paintings of Edward Hopper as its point of departure, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art will be puttiing their Hopper painting, Custom House, on exhibit. For the hour before the performance, curator Erin Monroe will be speaking about the work. The evening will also include the installation component of Voyeur on stage. The full event will be as follows:
7:00 - 8:00 pm: Reception with cash bar and light snacks
7:00 - 7:45 pm: From the Wadsworth's permanent collection, view Edward Hopper's Custom House, with Erin Monroe, Assistant Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture.
